WEDDING

What exactly does a wedding entail?

A wedding is a religious event in which two individuals join their marriage and their life together. Traditions, civilizations, ethnic groupings, religions, nations, and socioeconomic classes may all have a significant impact.

The majority of ceremonies include a couple’s marriage vows, the giving of a gift (offer, ring, token, flowers, money, clothing), and a public proclamation of marriage by an authority person or celebrity.

Ordinarily, special attire is worn, and the ceremony is frequently followed by a wedding celebration. The ceremony and superstitious practices also include music, poetry, prayers, or readings from religious texts or literature.

In this section of our site, we will try to share as much detailed information and reference sources about a wedding as possible.

What is a Wedding Registry?

Wedding registration or marriage registration is a service provided by a website or retail store that helps couples communicate their gift preferences to wedding guests.

The couple who chooses products from the stores’ stock lists the desired products and saves this list to the selected seller. The list is then presented to the guests by either the couple’s family or the vendor. Upon purchase of a listed item, the seller updates the gift record accordingly. In addition to providing valuable information for the recipient, the system helps prevent the receipt of duplicate or unwanted gifts, potentially saving time for both the giver and recipient.

Marshall Field’s, a Chicago-based store first launched a bridal registry practice in 1924 at Marshall Field and the Company Building for the engaged couple to display selected patterns of china, silver, and crystal to their family and friends. US-based Target stores also pioneered electronic self-service gift registration in 1993 using a service provided by The Gift Certificate Center of Minneapolis.

William J. Veeneman (founder and CEO of The Gift Certificate Center) and others invented and later patented the technology.

Since the beginning of the 21st century, the traditional concept of registry has evolved. More special editions have also been added as of 2015, such as honeymoon registration, baby registration, home registration, and charity registration. Registry services were also created that allowed registrants to place products from many stores in a single registry (often called Universal Registries).

Bridal registrations in the UK are more commonly known as Wedding Lists. It is common for couples to send a copy of the List details along with their invitations. There has also been a recent trend towards gift list services that allow couples to add just about anything to their gift list, such as contributions to their honeymoon, flight or experience day, and traditional gifts from any store.

Wedding dress registrations have become popular in Europe over the past few years. International guests tend to be international guests at European weddings, as more and more Europeans have studied or worked abroad at some point in their lives.

What does a Wedding Planner?

A wedding planner is a professional who assists with the design, planning, and management of a client’s. One of the most important events in people’s lives and therefore couples are often willing to spend a significant amount of money to ensure their wedding is well organized. Planners are often employed by couples who work long hours and have little free time to procure and manage their wedding venues and suppliers.

Professional wedding planners are based around the world, but the industry is the largest in the US, India, Western Europe, and China. A variety of planning courses are available for those wishing to pursue a career. Planners usually charge a percentage of the total cost or a flat fee.

Planners are also popular with couples planning a destination where documents and paperwork can be complicated. Any country where the wedding takes place requires different procedures depending on the nationality of the bride and groom. For example, US citizens marrying in Italy require a Nulla Osta (sworn statement before the US consulate in Italy), plus an Atto Notorio (sworn in before the Italian consulate in the US or in a court in Italy) and legalization.

Instead, some countries have agreements and the couple can get their unencumbered form from the local registrar and have it translated by the consulate in the country. A local planner can take care of different procedures.

What do wedding photography packages include?

Wedding photography is a specialty in photography that focuses on photographing wedding-related events.

It may also include other types of portrait photography of the couple before the formal wedding day, such as the engagement session, if any, before the wedding. These photos are then used for the couple’s wedding invitations.

On the official wedding day, the photographer will try to provide portrait photography and documentary photography to document different events and rituals throughout the day.

A contemporary wedding photographer will usually provide indoor photography at a church, temple, or other private venue during the ceremony and reception.

Outdoor photography often at a park, beach, or scenic location on the day of the wedding and/or for engagement photos. Both posed and candid shots of the couple and their guests at the religious or civil ceremony, and the reception that follows.

Formal portraiture in the studio for either the wedding or the engagement photos. Digital services, such as digital prints, slides shows and online galleries. Albums either traditional matted albums or the more contemporary flush mount type of album.

The range of deliverables that a photographer presents is varied. There is no standard as to what is included in a coverage or package, so products vary regionally and from across photographers, as do the number of images provided.

What is Wedding Celebrations?

A wedding reception is a party usually held after the completion of a marriage ceremony as hospitality for those who have attended the wedding, hence the name reception. Hosts provide their choice of food and drink, although a wedding cake is popular.

Entertaining guests after a wedding ceremony is traditional in most societies, and can last anywhere from half an hour to many hours or even days. Most receptions are made in the evening for dinner; however, the couple may opt for a luncheon, brunch, or even afternoon tea. Ultimately the married couple chooses the details and location of the reception.

In some cultures, separate celebrations are held for the bride’s and groom’s families.

Before receptions – a social event that is structured around a receiving line, and usually held in the afternoon, with only light refreshments – became popular, weddings were more typically celebrated with wedding breakfasts for those whose religious traditions encouraged morning weddings and wedding balls for those who were married in the evening.

The popularity of receptions, rather than breakfasts, dinners, and balls, during the 20th century led to the name reception being applied to any social event after a wedding, whether it is brunch, tea, dinner, or a dance.

Best Wedding Cufflinks Design

Wedding cufflinks are items of jewelry that are used to secure the cuffs of dress shirts. Cufflinks can be manufactured from a variety of different materials, such as glass, stone, leather, metal, precious metal or combinations of these.

Securing of the cufflinks is usually achieved via toggles or reverses based on the design of the front section, which can be folded into position. There are also variants with chains or a rigid, bent rear section. The front sections of the cufflinks can be decorated with gemstones, inlays, inset material or enamel and designed in two or three-dimensional forms.

Cufflinks are designed only for use with shirts that have cuffs with buttonholes on both sides but no buttons. These may be either single or double-length (“French”) cuffs, and may be worn either “kissing”, with both edges pointing outward, or “barrel-style”, with one edge pointing outward and the other one inward so that its hem is overlapped.

In the US, the “barrel-style” was popularized by a famous 19th-century entertainer and clown, Dan Rice; however, “kissing” cuffs are usually preferred.

What Hand Does a Wedding Ring Go On?

A wedding ring or wedding band is a finger ring that indicates that its wearer is married. It is usually forged from metal and traditionally is forged of gold or another precious metal.

Western customs for wedding rings can be traced to ancient Rome.

Depending on the culture, a wedding ring is typically worn on the base of the left or right ring finger; if the wearer is left-handed often it will go onto the right hand. Many spouses wear their wedding rings day and night, causing an indentation in the skin that is visible even when the ring is removed.

What is Wedding Venues?

Wedding venues (locations) are curious places. Technically, a wedding venue is simply a place where you can host a wedding. Of course, when most people hear the words “wedding venue,” they automatically think about those places in big cities that provide not only the event space, but also catering, tables, chairs, linens, china, and even waitstaff along with their wedding packages.

These places typically market themselves online and in wedding magazines as “wedding venues,” and include locations such as hotels, warehouses, art galleries, and fancy buildings with columns and gardens featuring different rooms and areas specifically set up for weddings.

This doesn’t mean that a great location such as your backyard, a friend or family member’s home, a field, the middle of the woods, a mountaintop, or even the middle of a lake, that doesn’t have amenities, a staff, or even a required contract, can’t also be a wedding venue. All a location truly needs in order to qualify as a venue, is room for a bride, a groom, an officiant, and two witnesses to stand, sit, swim, fly, fall, lay down, or simply occupy.
