This is a great recipe that I found in my Aunt’s recipe book. Judging from the weathered look of this Good Old Fashioned Pancakes recipe card, this was a family favorite. If you’d like pancakes even faster, make a dry pancake mix from scratch! Simply mix all dry ingredients and store in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Then, when you’re ready to make pancakes, just mix in the wet ingredients and you’re ready to go!
How to make Good Old Fashioned Pancakes?
Good Old Fashioned Fluffy PancakesCuisine: AmericanDifficulty: Easy
Wheat Flour (Type 450) – 250gr
Sugar – 2-3 tsp
Baking Powder – 2 tsp
Salt – 1 pinch
Egg – 2pcs / Medium
Milk – 200 ml
Some cooking oil (e.g. sunflower oil)
Some maple syrup for garnish
Some berries for garnish
- Mix the flour with the sugar, baking powder and salt. Add eggs and milk and mix everything into a smooth batter. Put some oil in a pan and heat on medium heat. Put 2 tablespoons of batter into each pan. The pancakes should have a diameter of about 10 cm.
- Bake each pancake for about 2 minutes until small bubbles form, then turn and bake on the other side as long. Garnish American pancakes with berries and maple syrup and serve.
- Perk up boxed pancake mix by adding a dash of baking soda, lemon juice, vanilla and sugar. For maple flavor, add a small splash of maple syrup to the pancake batter. For a sweet-and-spicy touch, sprinkle some vanilla and cinnamon into the batter.
